Downtown Grand Rapids is a lively and thriving community. A plethora of restaurants, museums, theaters, office space and a sports arena make downtown living a pleasant experience. Historically placed on the Grand River, the downtown area follows a picturesque scene that includes multiple bridges, walkways and large lawns for summer events or relaxation.
The John Ball Zoo and the start of Millennium Park – the largest public park in West Michigan that rivals New York’s Central Park in size – are only a few miles from downtown. Biking and running trails are a popular summertime experience. The winter brings out the avid cross country skiers that live in the city who can also use the city trails.
